David Nott x Gemini x McLaren
The Social Elite supported artist David Nott as he joined Nick Thomm and J. Demsky for a unique creative collaboration with Google Gemini and McLaren, creating three bespoke helmet designs for Oscar Piastri ahead of the 2026 British Grand Prix.
“3 helmets. 3 Silverstone moments.”

The project brought contemporary art directly into Formula 1, with each artist creating a distinct interpretation of one of motorsport’s most recognisable objects. The three designs were unveiled ahead of the Silverstone weekend, with Piastri set to wear a different artist’s helmet across the event. Formula 1 described the three designs as distinctly different, with Nott’s featuring sweeping arcs of red, orange, yellow, blue and purple.

For David Nott, the collaboration represented another step beyond traditional gallery spaces, placing his textile-led artistic practice within one of the world’s most watched sporting environments. The project formed part of Gemini and McLaren’s wider Silverstone activation, with McLaren describing its partnership as a celebration of the breakthrough ideas that have shaped the team’s legacy.
